V is a new student and this is her second composition. When she first started, she wrote just enough to spill over to the other side. Though we do not give extra marks for incredibly long stories, the length of a composition is a pretty good predictor of depth of content. I do not expect students of her age to have mastered the art of brevity, producing brilliant works in less than 120 words. At P3, students should strive to hit 300 words.
